Cheap Drum Sets

When looking to buy cheap drum sets you'll probably be aiming for a 4 or 5 piece kit. This will consist of a bass drum, one or two rack mounted toms, a floor tom and a snare drum.

Bear in mind you will need cymbals and not all cheap drum sets will come with them. However, there are cheap cymbal bundles available. This obviously has an impact on your total price you will pay, with a price of around $200-$250.

You'll also need the appropriate hardware. While your drum set might well come with all the drums and appropriate mountings you may or may not be getting cymbal stands with it.

Choosing a well respected brand like DW, Ludwig, Pearl or Yamaha will stand you in good stead and provide maximum resale value. However, there are plenty of other brands that offer fantastic value for money. At the end of the day it should be the drums that speak – not the brand name on the front.

Buying second hand drums is a great option – OK, the drums may well have taken a bit of a pounding but you'll benefit from a drastic reduction in price. eBay can be a great source to see what sort of prices are being obtained. Local papers can also be a good source.
